Rockin’ Is Who I Am

I feel blessed.

I found what plays my heart strings when I was a teenager and I picked up a guitar.

Alone, I would practice and I felt it, this sense of who I am.

It got me through all the learning and the fear I would never be any good.

It got me through my first live performances on the street.

It got me through writing my first songs and playing in my first band.

It grew as I leaned into it, that sense that this is who I am, why I’m here.

My life seemed difficult, was difficult until I opened to that thing deep inside telling me why I’m here.

Once I gave over to it, to my true self, I saw life as an ever expanding adventure to bring who I am to the world.

No, I don’t mean being a rock star. I wasn’t dreaming of that, well the notion of that with all the material stuff and the fame, anyway.

I just kept focused on how I could create music that could touch people’s hearts and was true to who I am.

So, doing my thing and getting others to feel like they have a thing.

This is rockin’ for me, just creating from my heart and sharing that with the world.
