I can't speak English at all and I'm not good at English composition. I can read English to some extent. So, when Amy Davis asked me to speak with her, I turned her down and instead introduced Carey Corr, an American filmmaker and CEO of "Connected Pictures", a new filmmaking and publishing technology startup. In "Connected Pictures", a platform before it's fully opened, I've been running a series called " Page of Swords & The High Priestess ". I write sentences in English with the help of AI, and I also draw pictures to accompany sentences with the help of AI.
I don't know the exact year until I look it up, but I started using LinkedIn probably before most Japanese. That's because I got an invitation email from my friend's filmmaker. However, I was not able to fully use LinkedIn, which was called "SNS for overseas employees." I lost trust and lost a lot of friends in 2016 when I derailed "The Holy Spirit in Ultramarine", which I was planning to shoot. So, I need new people, and I think I really started moving LinkedIn around in 2020 or so in search of that possibility. In June of that year, I finished a major script revision for "The Holy Spirit in Ultramarine" and began exploring the possibility of a film adaptation.
I saw this video this morning. I don't know exactly what they're saying at this point because it involves reading subtitles, but I was moved to tears by the way they were talking about me, pronouncing my name "Mitsuhiro" correctly. I had difficulty learning English and was frustrated, so I relied on AI and exchanged messages with them only by text. But I found that they understood me exactly. Japanese people who are fluent in English may not understand, but to me this is a big adventure. Thank you to Carey Corr and Amy Davis for accepting me when I could only communicate like this.
